Title
editPlease keep this title consistent with others in Category:Jewish history. IZAK 16:55, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
- Shall we now remove all of the sections that don't match the name the article has been moved to? Jkelly 17:02, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
Massacres Against Jews
editSo how many Jews did you kill during the independence? You are quick to paint all Cham Albanians as NAZI collabs based on a book with no page number I am editing the Cham section, I know you hate Chams and this "Chams Collaborated" is liek saying "Greeks collaborated," it's too sweeping
Antisemitic section
editIsn't that all too low profile trying to embelish the picture? After all in the greek textbooks the Shoah is ignored, new political parties with share as high as 10% have risen in the recent elections with clear antisemitic speach (LAOS), the TwinTower rumors, the israelipalestinian conflict with the newspapers saying israelis kill plastinians and sell their organs, the recent marches against the Holocaust Memorial in Thessaloniki?? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Iws (talk • contribs) 03:47, 4 January 2007 (UTC).
Laos got only 2,2 % and did not manage to enter the parliament.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Dardanos (talk • contribs)
- The EUMC study specificaly mentions that there were no (0) physical or verbal assaults on Jews in Greece. I have changed the article to reflect this.
- This is a credit to Hellenism and more than can be said of Greeks in Israel. See sources here:
http://www.haaretzdaily.com/hasen/spages/487887.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml?xml=/news/2004/10/13/wspit13.xml&sSheet=/news/2004/10/13/ixnewstop.html http://www.guardian.co.uk/israel/Story/0,2763,1329380,00.html
- LAOS, far from garnering 10% of the vote did note even get enough to enter parliament. You should be more fastidious in your checking of facts.
- There were no marches against the Holocaust memorial in Thessalonica.
- The Holocaust far from being ignored in Greek textbooks, is mentioned extensively in the history textbook of 6th grade Demotic, IIIrd grade Gymnasium and G grade Lykeion, i.e. all the textbooks that deal with the relevant period.
- Again this is a credit to Greeks and more than can be said of the Pontian Greek Genocide, the Istanbull Pogrom of 1955, the Izmir massacre of 1923 etc with respect to the Israeli history textbooks. Xenovatis
How many Jews in Greece?
editSo, how many Jews in Greece? I can't find the figure in the article. --Koryakov Yuri 12:11, 16 April 2007 (UTC)

Persistent section deletion
editSee the discussion at Talk:Dönmeh#Administrator action needed?. This page may need semi-protection from a range of numerical IP (Internet Protocol) addresses that all do the same thing without explanation or justification, not only here but at related articles for Turkey, Thessaloniki, Dönmeh and Henry Morgenthau, Sr. Of course anyone is free to anticipate me by renewing my earlier nomination of this page for semi-protection at WP:Requests for page protection. Happy New Year. —— Shakescene (talk) 18:28, 17 January 2010 (UTC)
Citations & References
editThere are several statements, quotes or excerpts in the article that reference "The Foundation for the Advancement of Sephardic Studies and Culture, p.2", but that's not a book, it's a website, so page 2 or any page number doesn't make sense. Can you post the title of the article where those statements came from? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.153.88.2 (talk) 14:32, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

World War II, Resistance and the Holocaust
editThis needs to be detached and put into it's own article. The german article Holocaust in Greece is enormous. Needs to come across. scope_creep (talk) 13:52, 18 February 2018 (UTC)
The Jews of Anavryti, in the Peloponese.
editDuring a visit to Anavryti, a tiny village on the slopes of Mt. Taygetus, I was told that, according to the legend, Anavryti was built by Jews fleeing the persecution of St. Nikon in the tenth century. After a quick search, I found some greek texts confirming the fact that Anavryti was indeed a jewish tannery village which mysteriously converted later to Christianism. Does anybody know any other sources confirming the jewish ancestry of Anavryti? This is has been my main source, in Greek: https://kis.gr/scanned/T090.pdf
- See Anavryti, Laconia:
