I think we need to lose the unencyclopaedic episode synopses, recheck and keep removing copied or poor material until those scores drop drastically. Unless anybody objects, I'll start on that shortly.
Special note for any kids reading this: I know it seems like you are helping if you copy in descriptions from other websites but, unless there is proof that this is allowed, we have to assume that it isn't. You wouldn't like it if some other kid copied your homework without asking, would you? Well this is a bit like that.--DanielRigal (talk) 11:21, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- I have removed the synopses and tweaked the character descriptions. Ignoring one source that seems to be copying from Wikipedia, the score is now down to 39.8%. I think that is acceptable. --DanielRigal (talk) 12:13, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- Just to say that I wrote the original 20-something synopses myself - someone else started copy and pasting in descriptions. Anyway; all gone now. --GSV Ethics Gradient (talk) 14:55, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
- Sorry. That can happen. The tool is supposed to avoid sites that copy material from Wikipedia but it doesn't catch them all. I was trying to be careful but if sites are not crediting Wikipedia as their source then it has hard to tell what the original source is. I wasn't aware that the synopses were in two batches so I wasn't looking for some to be OK and some bad. All I was really aware of was the bad overall copyvio score and that some of them, presumably not your ones, were clearly written in a promotional tone.
- If you want to restore your ones from the history then you can but, TBH, with 52 episodes in the initial run and probably more to come maybe it may be more trouble that it is worth to have them and keep adding new ones. --DanielRigal (talk) 19:50, 17 June 2015 (UTC)
Things to add
editHere are some suggestions for things to add:
- Dates of first broadcast
- Channels broadcast on outside the UK
- Reviews, criticism and media coverage.
--DanielRigal (talk) 12:46, 14 June 2015 (UTC)
- Australian first air dates for each episode; Apparently, CBeebies Australia aired this series earlier than the UK, according to this press release. But I don't know how to obtain past TV listings from Australia.

External Links section is messed up.
editIn the box that's top right of the page with programme details, which probably has a technical Wikipedia term I don't know, there's a section at the bottom headed "External Links". It contains a single invalid hyperlink http://www.cbeebies.com/australia/hey-duggee/,%20http://www.bbc.co.uk/cbeebies/shows/hey-duggee I can't work out how to fix it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.174.104.82 (talk) 19:40, 28 December 2017 (UTC)
Reverted vandalism
editHappyINC could you please do a sanity check on the article? I think I have removed most of the vandalism. Thanks. ST47: thanks for adding the protection, much appreciated. The joy of all things (talk) 19:00, 22 July 2019 (UTC)
Curiosities
editThe 'Curiosities' section of this article needs to be deleted. It has no sources, is extremely poorly written and contributes nothing of any real significance to the article. "Tino, the Artistic Mouse, John Crab and one of the Rabbits, who are French and come from France."
I mean honestly. Fleabag500 (talk) 17:59, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- Well, That section seems to be about the things that we may know in the show. I vote it should stay. HappyINC (💬) 18:41, 17 August 2019 (UTC)
- I'm sorry, but I'm not sure I understand what point you're trying to make. Would you mind clarifying? Bear in mind that this is Wikipedia, not the Hey Duggee Fandom Wiki, and we should hold ourselves to an encyclopaedic standard. Fleabag500 (talk) 02:54, 21 August 2019 (UTC)
There's a spelling mistake that requires correction under "The Key Badge" in the episode table: "Roly digs up a key in the graden, but what does it do?". Pretty sure he finds it in the garden. I normally fix these things up when I see them, but this article seems to be semi-locked and so I am here instead. Hopefully not transgressing any local rules. ---- Heef.
This whole article is horribly written. Such a beautifully crafted programme deserves a better Wiki article than this. 2.24.14.168 (talk) 08:55, 2 June 2020 (UTC)
- I absolutely agree that this article is in dire need of improvment, but unfortunately any positive edits seem to get reverted very quickly. It seems that there is an individual or small community who are throwing their weight around to ensure this article can't get the care it desperately needs, treating it like their personal playground for sharing opinions and fan theories and useless bits of trivia. Such a shame. Fleabag500 (talk) 02:18, 19 November 2020 (UTC)
Right, I’ve been bold and deleted the curiosity section, it’s poorly written, contains what appears to be original research, has no citations and it acts as a “trivia” section, which is discouraged by the Wikipedia guidelines. I’m sure a lot of work had gone into it, and I would of rewritten it if I could, but it was beyond saving. However, there is some information that deserves a mention (maybe), so I would suggest that someone puts that information into relevant sections like “production” or “characters”. Sorry to whoever wrote that section, we all appreciate the the thought and hard work, but that information would be better somewhere else. HenryTemplo (talk) 11:13, 28 December 2020 (UTC)
Things to Improve
editOk, so I’ve spent a good hour or two sorting out this article, but I am a mere amateur at editing Wikipedia, so would appreciate a more experienced editor reviewing my sometimes brutal rewrites. Also, I think this has been mentioned before, but the episode list is in dire need of a review, with text that appears to of been simply copied-pasted from the iPlayer description and sometimes unnecessary detail more belonging in the Hey Duggee Fandom. Also, the reception section may need additional content, as the section is dominated by a controversy relating to the use of the word “fireman”, which although deserves a mention, with very little else in the section, sheds this Award-winning and popular show in a somewhat negative light. I’m sure there’s more to do, but I think these are the things that need attention soonest. - HenryTemplo HenryTemplo (talk) 19:36, 27 December 2020 (UTC)
Airdates
editI've updated the airdates for all episodes according to TV Guide. They were an utter mess. I've updated the tables as well. EvergreenFir (talk) 21:11, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Errors
editDisclosure: I am associated with production so understand I cannot edit this post. I would like to suggest some corrections in the hope that another Wikipedian can help.
1) The article states that: ″On 13 September 2021, the BBC announced that the third season would be the show's last.″ There is no citation for this and no such announcement has been made.
2) In the 'Awards and nominations' section the Kidscreen Award for Best Animated Series 2021 is listed as 'Won'. This should read 'Nominated as per the cited article.
