Question
editIn antique eras, soldiers wore a flag to show their party to Combatants. We should mention that... -- Bapho 23:15, 9 July 2007 (UTC)
No. That may belong in an article about flags or soldiers or heraldry in general, but this article is specifically about heraldic officers. Nothing to do with war.
Heralds in Fiction
editI have removed this whole section. It had nothing to do with heralds at arms; the heralds of Valdemar and various comic book references are ones that use the word "herald", but are not heraldic officers responsible for issuance and regulation of armorial bearings (coats of arms.) The Name 'Harold' Derived from the Office? Nope.
editThere was a line here that the name Harold is derived from the name of the office. I deleted it. The name is derived from the Anglo-Saxon Hereweald, meaning 'army-leader'. See http://www.behindthename.com/name/harold. CsikosLo (talk) 18:25, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
White Sticks
editDon't Heralds, at least in the UK, carry white sticks (not sure what they are called) should this be mentioned? Does anyone know what they are called? rfwebster (talk) 15:49, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
