Height

edit

It would be desirable to find a citation for his stated height (preferably nearest his lifetime), and if it makes him the tallest recorded Member of Parliament at Westminster pre-20th century. (The 'top-two' being living (2013) Daniel Kawczynski and the late Louis Gluckstein, respectively 6 ft 8.5 in and 6 ft 7.5 in.)Cloptonson (talk) 05:47, 9 September 2013 (UTC)Reply

The information about his height was added in an edit here, by 92.25.150.28 (talk · contribs · WHOIS). No source was given, no reference to his height appears in any of the accessible sources used in this article, not the Oxford Dictionary of National Biography, the Dictionary of Welsh Biography, or the History of Parliament. We are the only source it seems that makes any claim about his unusual height, or about his height in general. It may have been a WP:HOAX edit, but even WP:AGF, it's best removed entirely for now, pending the finding of a reliable source. In addition, all sources used in the article state that Vaughan was captured at Naseby, rather than as this edit changed the information to, Bampton. It may be that those sources are incomplete or in error, but again, pending a reliable source to the contrary, I have restored and cited the previous information. 77.96.115.80 (talk) 14:45, 24 April 2017 (UTC)Reply
