I would strongly question the claim G. was shot down by an Italian fighter. The Farman flew into the middle of a naval battle between the Brits and the Italian Navy ( Battle of Teulada ). The Italians could only deploy their Fiats which would have had trouble to catch up with lest to shoot down such a solid plane as the Farman.
