I find the article very interesting, and i think most Hockey buffs arent aware of this team. But there are a few concerns I have (especially since its been nominated for DYK), for me the article repreasents more of the event that the team was to be created, but did not occur (seems more of an event than organization), So my interpretation is that it would fall under WP:EVENT. While there was a subsequent relocation of the Hartford Whalers which imapcted this team from not occuring, I dont see this (or at least in the sources given) directly impacting that the Hampton team caused that movement. But most importantly (per dyk) the article sufferes from two related flaws, one that their is not persistant coverage (See Wikipedia:PERSISTENCE) Most articles stem from 1997, and secondly a lack of diversion in its references See WP:DIVERSE nearly all the references come from the same author and same source (Virginia Pilot). At this stage i would highly recommend redirecting/merging (though I would not recommend for deletion at this stage) to either the 1997–98 NHL season article or the Carolina Hurricanes or Hartford Whalers article if these changes cannot be addressed. I hope Im not being too critical (it is well written and intriguing), this is just the feeling i got after reading the article for DYK. Ottawa4ever (talk) 12:50, 16 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
