editI really liked the article as a whole, this was a topic that I was not aware of at all! I thought the intro was really good and provided a good overview of the article as a whole. The only thing with the intro would probably be to add some citations to the second paragraph of the intro (where it talks about deportations under the Trump administration).
For the body as a whole, I think that if it was organized in a bit of a different way visually, it might flow a little more. First, I think it might be better to change the title of the third section, “the resumption of removals to Haiti after the earthquake” to “removals from 2016 and beyond). At least to me, that’s what the topic of that section read as, and I think putting it in a timeline type format makes for better continuity with the first and second sections. All of the different sections are “subheadings”. For each of the current sections (1,2,3,4,5) and the introI think it might be helpful to organize it like this (I hope the way I say this makes sense haha):
TITLE Intro section HEADING: 2010 earthquake and the beginning of TPS (1) Subheading: Criminal deportation from 2010-2015 (2) Subheading: the resumption of removals to Haiti after the earthquake (OR retitled, “removals from 2016 and beyond”) (3) HEADING: In Politics (potential for another subheading or section here outlining the stances of different parties/politicians on this-- I think that could provide some more context for the issue) Subheading: recent policies under the Trump admin Temporary status today
Also, don’t forget to create a separate heading/section for the citations :)
Like I said, I don’t know too much about this topic but the information you have seems good and it’s a very solid draft!! The biggest thing is the organization of it, as well as adding citations in for some sections where there’s a few sentences in a row without citations.
