used to be in PA postcode area?
editDid the Outer Hebrides used to be in the PA postcode area (Paisley)? I've recently seen quite a few letters to the Hebrides using PA postcodes, mostly PA88 I think. If so, when did it change? And why? --Vclaw (talk) 04:00, 19 December 2008 (UTC)
- I understand it was. Remember the code is primarily a shorthand for mail delivery and the Outer Hebrides mail (first class at least) went via Abbotsinch Airport, so PA made sense. I think the change was relatively recently, perhaps because of a change in transport methods. Timrollpickering (talk) 01:49, 5 January 2009 (UTC)
