Joke?

edit

Is this some kind of joke? Here we can again seen the photo of Guy Goma and entitled as Guy Kewney! If only Guy Kewney would check this website! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 203.191.33.10 (talkcontribs)

Most Influential?

edit

At the peak of the fame and influence of PCW, Guy Kewney was probably the UK's most influential writer and broadcaster on microcomputing technology,

That's a rather bold claim.

Being a presenter on a couple of minor TV programmes would hadly earn the accolate of 'most influential broadcaster'

After all, no-one at the BBC recognised him... --Captain Idiot 03:32, 17 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

That's because the typical BBC journalist is not interested in microcomputing. You have to appreciate the amount of time and effort the man puts into his work and his research. His routine involves a fair amount of dialogue with various experts and executives in that space, and as a result he is very current on the issues of the day. Kewney is definitely among the most renowned technology journalists in the UK - he is somebody that other hacks and also industry analysts look up to and respect. In that sense, he is influential.

I think "most" on its own is hyperbole. "one of the most" is better.
