Stanford or Stanley
editThe real name of the Stanford Pines discussed in this article has been confirmed to be Stanley Pines. He began using his twin brother's name after his brother disappeared in 1982. Superion maximus (talk) 16:38, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Episode hasn't aired yet. Wait until then. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 17:02, 2 July 2015 (UTC)
- Update on this? Also where was "Pines" revealed. Looks like normal assumption that the only relatives that exist are all on the paternal line. That, of course, flies in face of reality but generally followed in works of fiction so likely true in this case. Geraldo Perez (talk) 01:48, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- Also, independent of the above, this article should stay at "Grunkle Stan" per WP:COMMONNAME as a name revealed in passing in an episode is an in-universe detail and does not override what the show's credits and common usage support. Geraldo Perez (talk) 19:44, 13 July 2015 (UTC)
- The episode has now been shown and confirms it. I don't find many reviews of the episode yet, but when they come out it can be sourced. (Or just use one of the two I did find)--T. Anthony (talk) 13:32, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- The episode itself, since it has aired, counts as a published primary reliable source for uninterpreted information about its own contents. A cite with the exact time stamp of the reveal would help for verification but is not strictly necessary. A section in the article talking about the episode, the reveal and the circumstances will support the full name as mentioned in the intro. Geraldo Perez (talk) 15:46, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
- I might steal this explanation:
a published primary reliable source for uninterpreted information about its own contents
. Exactly correct. EvergreenFir (talk) Please {{re}} 17:44, 14 July 2015 (UTC)
