Early researchers
editIn Contact (novel), Carl Sagan briefly mentions that the scientist who discovered green leaf VOCs wore a pine sprig on their lapel to commemorate the fact. He did not describe the scientist or the nature of their discovery, since it was just an aside from talking about the book's main character Eleanor Arroway. And since Contact is set in an alt-history, the scientist might be a fictional one. Anyway, having a section on initial research would be interesting, I think.
