List of Rumors

edit

Consensus on whether we should keep this section? Lists are generally frowned upon, although this one is sort of interesting to me. On the other hand, though, most of the information is covered elsewhere in the article. Thoughts? — Hunter Kahn (c) 04:38, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Max Carver?

edit

Are we sure it was him and not his twin/one of them at all? it sure looked like one of em but there was no credit.... was there? IAmTheCoinMan (talk) 12:47, 22 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

credit goof

edit

I didn't notice this when I first watched the show when it aired, but I downloaded the episode out of curiosity to see how the new receptionist was credited (as a guest star or a regular) and noticed that Angela Kinsey appears twice in the credits after the title sequence. As those credits are (mostly) in alphabetical order, my guess is they meant to bump Angela to the next cluster of names and slide Ellie Kemper into the earlier cluster, as her name doesn't appear in the opening or end credits at all. Can anyone confirm this is the case in all versions of the episode and not just the one I downloaded? If true, that's an interesting goof worth mentioning in the article. GAN on hold

edit

I have reviewed this article according to the requirements of the GA criteria and have placed the article on hold until the following issues are addressed. As you address each issue, either strike through the statement/place a check mark next to the issue and state how you addressed it (if necessary). If you disagree with a particular issue, state your rationale for doing so after the issue in question so a compromise can be reached.

  1. Although it is not required by the criteria (so will not need to be completed for the article to pass as a GA), it would be beneficial to add alt text for the images for disabled readers and those with limited Internet connections.
  2. "It features Max Carver, Kelii Miyata and Elvy Yost in guest appearance as Dunder..." "guest appearances"
  3. ""Gossip" episode received generally..." This needs to be reworded, it looks like a word is missing.
  4. "...but Phyllis (Phyllis Smith) claims that Stanley doesn't like..." Contractions should not be used, unless it is within a quote. Fix the other occurrences within the article.
  5. "He starts telling people all kinds or rumors ranging from..." "kinds of rumors"
  6. "The film was a surprise box office success, grossing three times more than The 40-Year Old Virgin, which established Steve Carell as a comedy movie star." This could use a source for the box office results.
    • I added some box office sources. This was a good call, because the sources I found indicate that although the source said it earned three times as much, that wasn't exactly right, so I changed the wording to "more than twice"...
  7. "It was an 18 percent..." Specify "it", as it's not too clear here (I apologize for using "it" in my comment here...)
  8. "It was the highest rating of that age group in the 9 p.m. to 10 p.m. slot, competing with CBS' CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Fox's Fringe, ABC's Grey's Anatomy (a rerun), The CW's Supernatural.[13]." "rerun) and The" and remove the period after the citation. The comma should be removed since the serial comma has not been used for the rest of the article.
  9. "The episode was nominated for a Writers Guild of America Award for best episodic comedy." Consider mentioning if it won (or what episode did).
  10. There are a few dead links that need to be fixed. The Internet Archive may be able to help.
    • I dropped one of the two deadlink references altogether which was citing only the original airdate, since that information is more than covered by most of the other sources. As for the second, I can't find it in Internet Archive. However, the link you provide says "WebCite archive avaiable". I went to WebCite and couldn't find one, so maybe I'm missing something here. Are you familiar with this? If I can't find an archive link, I guess we can drop this source and info altogether... — Hunter Kahn 04:34, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Altogether, this article was informative on the topic and is very well-sourced. Most of the above issues shouldn't be too difficult to address, but if you have any questions on them, please let me know. I have left the article on hold for seven days for the issues to be addressed. If they are fixed in this time, I will pass the article. If not, the article may be failed and can be renominated at WP:GAN. If necessary to address the above issues, and progress is being made, an extension may be allowed. If you have any questions or when you are done, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 03:38, 23 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

GA passed

edit

Good job addressing the above issues so quickly. I enjoyed reading this article, probably because I've seen this episode at least three times. I went through the article and made various changes, please look them over. I must say that I really like Lieberstein's image, that has to be one of my favorite Office cast member images I was able to get released under a free license (favorite is File:MindyKaling08.jpg). Anyway, thanks for incorporating it into the article, it's always great to stumble across images I've uploaded.

Also, to anyone that is reading this review, please consider reviewing an article or two at WP:GAN to help with the very large backlog. Instructions can be found here. Each new reviewer that helps to review articles will help to reduce the time that articles wait to be reviewed, while also further improving the encyclopedia. If you are new to reviewing and want to become familiar with the process, study the GA criteria, look at other editors' reviews, and leave any questions you have at Wikipedia talk:Good article nominations if you need feedback while performing a review.

Keep up the good work, and I hope that you continue to bring articles up to good article status. If anyone disagrees with this review, an alternate opinion can be sought at Good article reassessment. If you have any questions, let me know on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. I have updated the article history to reflect this review. --Happy editing!
