Hello. I am creating this talk page in order to insist on the inconsistencies of Night Lion/Data Viper/Vinny Troia’s claims. I won’t argue based on controversies related to this researcher. This is isn’t relevant there. I will talk based on facts. Rather, I don’t think his website should be considered a reliable source to fuel this whole article, for numerous reasons that are as follows: -In his 2020 Q2 report on cyber security, WatchGuard said: « Penetration tester and grey hat Vinny Troia of the threat intelligence firm Data Viper came to a different conclu-sion when he pinned the person behind ShinyHunters to a Canadian teenager, the same individual behind the Peace of Mind handle from 2018. Troia’s own analysis takes rather large leaps at times and ignores admis-sions of guilt though, so it’s hard to trust its accuracy either », browsable by downloding it here: https://www.watchguard.com/uk/wgrd-resource-center/security-report-q2-2020 -Several local magazines in France confirmed gnosticplayers was involved in the GateHub hack. ( http://cyberguerre.numerama.com/5961-les-victimes-du-plus-gros-cybercasse-suivi-par-la-justice-francaise-nous-livrent-leur-recit.html / http://www.ladepeche.fr/amp/2020/07/17/le-hacker-tarbais-realise-un-cybercasse-a-8-m-8983628.php / https://www.leparisien.fr/faits-divers/le-cybercasse-du-siecle-a-8-millions-d-euros-des-hackers-francais-flambeurs-17-07-2020-8354235.php / https://france3-regions.francetvinfo.fr/occitanie/hautes-pyrenees/tarbes/hautes-pyrenees-21-ans-il-est-mis-examen-cyberbraquage-plus-8-millions-euros-1854400.amp -Vinny Troia ( Data Viper or Night Lion), has often been accused of being linked to the groups in question, thus WatchGuard calling him « grey hat », while generally, a security researcher is doing everything legally.
The question that makes me wonder is therefore is Night Lion a reliable source: -if yes, why ? -if no, I suggest all the names written in this article be removed as some of them may exist and have no involvements, and most are presumed innocent. 2A01:CB1A:41:23AA:38E7:68E3:E4E8:52B7 (talk) 16:18, 26 January 2021 (UTC)
