Is this man ethnic Georgian or Abkhaz? The article suggests he is Georgian but I would suspect he is actually Abkhazian. It is complex because the nationality of Abkhazians is, officially, Georgian - they are nationals of the Georgian state of which Abkhazia is still officially part thereof - but his ethnicity is surely Abkhaz? I don't know. Without knowing either language, I would say his name could be either Abkhaz or Mingrelian. Most officials (but not all) of the Abhazian Autonomous Republic are Mingrelian or Georgian. sephia karta | di mi15:08, 7 November 2009 (UTC)Reply
