Totally - also, Dobrudscha Germans - as the article says, see ethnic German, specifically the section on Black Sea Germans in the tree at the bottom. Also, possibly Germans of Galicia. Hope that helps Adam Mathias 01:11, 12 April 2007 (UTC)

Restoring unsourced content

Is against core content policy, especially where it makes claims about alleged German descent of living people. (Also, the current way of displaying the names violates MOS:COLLAPSE.) I read the policy resources mentioned above and all I can say is that you definitely find yourself in an error from several standpoints: first of all, this Wikipedia page has been my responsibility for quite some time and the template with the list of ethnic Germans has been well documented by me over the course of several years, therefore corresponding links do not have to be sourced because they link to other well documented articles on Wikipedia (logically enough). Furthermore, before deleting someone's work and interfering in one's constant attempts at editing an article please judge stuff carefully from an objective perspective. Last but not least, all the people mentioned throughout the various lists that you deleted are not 'allegedly' ethnic German but actually truly German. The list should be consequently considered neutral and quite balanced. The inclusion of the material that was written by me over so many edits is verifiable and encyclopedic. Please restore all the collapsible lists as they are placed at the bottom of the article and rightfully do not interfere with the reader's ability to comprehend the contained information. Thank you very much in advance!

Rosenborg BK Fan, I just checked one example Siegfried Mureșan. Muresan's article doesn't say that he's a German. Furthermore, he's a living person and active politician so you have to be especially careful what's said about him. It's not enough for the entries to be sourced on their own page, they have to be sourced directly on the list per WP:SOURCELIST—there's no exemption to the verifiability policy for lists, stand-alone or otherwise. buidhe 00:02, 22 April 2020 (UTC)

Siegfried Mureșan is partly Transylvanian Saxon and by extension partly ethnic German. I understand the exemption rule but then just add the 'source needed tag' and please do not remove such a large section of work. I hope this is understandable.

Response: Figuratively speaking I previously had a responsibility for this page as I was mostly the sole editor for years and years. Congrats for disrespecting work. It's funny how at some point, just out of the blue, other editors care so much about these types of articles when in fact they are left abandoned and poorly edited for many years on. The strength of my arguments is really powerful, but in the end there seem to be others who decide what goes in and out. I don't have enough time at my disposal to undo what should not be discarded in the first place. I firmly cling to my initial turn of mind, namely that a 'source needed' tag or something similar should be placed next to each corresponding article of either a living person or a historical figure. If someone else has the abnegation to do this then let it be. I am constantly checking the encyclopedic criteria here and I still see no point in the deletion of a well-organized section. Anyway, I'll let others decide. I hope you are satisfied.

Austrians

please do not confuse the anytime Austrian state with the Austrian nation, here related ethnic groups we are discussing, since Austrian ethnicity and national identity did not exist prior 1945 and the period of events regarding Bukovina was earlier, thus the relation with Germans is valid and covers that period, we should avoid confusing anachronism.(KIENGIR (talk) 02:53, 8 May 2020 (UTC))
