Ambiguity: accuser or perpetrator?

edit

Under the heading World War II is the sentence:

Starr was accused of the torture and brutal treatment of collaborators and prisoners by one of his couriers Anne-Marie Walters.

Are we to understand that courier Anne-Marie Walters was the abuser, or, rather, Starr's accuser? If the latter, possibly to word as follows:

Starr was accused by Anne-Marie Walters, one of his couriers, of the torture and brutal treatment of collaborators and prisoners.

If the latter version is consistent with the facts, I suggest its substitution for the former. -- Deborahjay (talk) 12:28, 20 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
