Was this person an Albanian? The Albanian name would probably be Gjergj Gjika, but I have never heard of him. Dori | Talk 21:51, Jan 20, 2004 (UTC)

After a google search I read on some sites that he was Albanian Vlach/Aromanian. Bogdan | Talk 20:45, 21 Jan 2004 (UTC)
OK, thank you. Dori | Talk 21:37, Jan 21, 2004 (UTC)
Ghica family is of Albanian origin. The history of this family was written by Eleni Ghica or Gjika "Dora D'Istria" a well known feminist figure of Albanian Reinassance. In "Gli Albanesi in Rumenia" a history of the dukes of Ghica in the 17th to 19th centuries (2. Ed., Florence 1873) she clearly identifies theeir Albanian origin.
