Fair use rationale for Image:GDmarshotel.jpg
editImage:GDmarshotel.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Thanks to Gamaliel for adding a fair use rationale to the album cover image. — Mudwater 01:44, 3 January 2008 (UTC)
Pride of Cucamonga
editIt is thought by some that "Pride of Cucamonga" is a dismissal of the work of Frank Zappa. Zappa is known to have said some arrogant and sarcastic things about the Greatful Dead, and the compliment was returned —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.87.246.58 (talk) 11:41, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Title
editThe correct title is just From the Mars Hotel - see Christgau et al. I'll move it if no-one objects. Rothorpe (talk) 18:26, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
- Checking a few relevant sources, I'm seeing the title both ways. Allmusic and Robert Christgau have it as From the Mars Hotel, but Rolling Stone, deaddisc.com, and the Grateful Dead's own online store list it as Grateful Dead from the Mars Hotel. With that being said, in my opinion the actual album title is From the Mars Hotel, and I agree with your proposal to rename the article. But, that would be a pretty big change for the article, so I would request that you wait at least seven days, to give other editors a chance to voice their opinion on this. Thanks. — Mudwater (Talk) 23:57, 29 June 2011 (UTC)
- Glad you agree: we'll see what others think. My British LP never hinted at a longer title (and there was no reason to read the cover that way) so I was surprised to see it here. Rothorpe (talk) 01:55, 30 June 2011 (UTC)
- It's been three weeks and no one has disagreed with this idea. But, I can't rename the page myself, because From the Mars Hotel is a redirect with an edit history. So, I'm going to request the rename at Wikipedia:Requested moves. — Mudwater (Talk) 01:00, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks. Rothorpe (talk) 02:19, 21 July 2011 (UTC)

The result of the move request was: page moved. Vegaswikian (talk) 05:25, 28 July 2011 (UTC)
Grateful Dead from the Mars Hotel → From the Mars Hotel – This rename has been discussed at Talk:Grateful Dead from the Mars Hotel#Title, and no one has disagreed with the idea. But the new name is a redirect with an edit history, so we will need an admin to rename the article. — Mudwater (Talk) 01:04, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
