There is no source to confirm his military service. His cartoon and associated narrative does state that he was with the 2nd Battalion South Wales Borderers in 1906; no further timespan is in the narrative. The Battalion left Tidworth in November 1906 for Aldershot. Up to this point, the South Wales Borderers had been at Salisbury Plain, initially at Bulford Camp, then moving to Tidworth.
