Not enough information

edit

This article does not explain what this item is for or what it is meant to do. -- œ 20:51, 30 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I have to agree. I came to this page too try to understand where the name came from, but there's no information as far as I can see why the term 'Flip Chip' was used by DEC to describe these, which is a shame. Dsnt02518 (talk) 23:33, 10 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Renaming the article

edit

This article is clearly misnamed. It's named Flip Chip (trademark), but, while it mentions the trademark, its really about the DEC computer component, not the trademark.

What's a better name that is both descriptive and still sufficiently clear so as not to confuse with flip chip (a semiconductor mounting technique, and currently the primary topic) and flip-chip pin grid array (a CPU format)? Flip Chip (DEC)? Flip Chip (computer component)? Flip Chip (module)?

Or just Flip Chip (currently a redirect to flip chip), and rely on the upper-case C to disambiguate from flip chip? (I can't recall the WP practice on disambiguating by case, but I don't like it.) TJRC (talk) 20:57, 13 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

Without even seeing this discussion beforehand, I came up with the reasoning, so I've renamed it to "Flip Chip (PDP module)". December Rush (talk) 18:44, 5 January 2015 (UTC)Reply
