Re: Proposed deletion.
Not all references are from website. News articles are referenced within the page. If too many references from this page are from their website, I welcome any changes or deletes of such information. Also, AFC was only rejected because it was accidentally submitted twice. This is the reason for rejection: Thank you for your submission, but the subject of this article already exists in Wikipedia. You can find it and improve it at First 5 Los Angeles instead. --Cajolery (talk) 07:10, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
This page should not be speedy deleted because...
editThis page should not be speedily deleted because of reasons from [[Talk:Wikipedia:CSD#G11]]. Specifically, "If a subject is notable and the content can be replaced with text that complies with neutral point of view, this is preferable to deletion." Tips from NPOV include indicating "relative prominence of opposing views." Controversy and research showing that some of First LA's programs do not lead to positive or even statistically significant outcomes is included. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Cajolery (talk • contribs) 07:17, 20 February 2014 (UTC)--Cajolery (talk) 21:20, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- It's good that you're cleaning up the advertising style in the article, but I have to suspect that WP:COI might apply in this situation. If that's true, I would suggest finishing the cleanup and then letting other editors handle the future of this article. 0x0077BE [talk/contrib] 07:31, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- There is no conflict of interest - I am a graduate student who was researching First 5 LA and other public health organizations and thought it would make a good article. I believe that the "advertising" tone may be due to the fact that I paraphrased much of the information about the specific programs of First 5 LA from their website, and I am working to improve that. In any case, this is my first article and I was not aware of the importance of including more references from third-party sources. I tried to improve that but I also readily welcome any future editors to improve upon the article.--Cajolery (talk) 21:20, 20 February 2014 (UTC)

editThis page should not be speedily deleted because... First 5 LA is a notable and significant organization in the Southern California that affects health outcomes of millions of people in the area and the page incorporates several third-party sources to reflect that. The original editor seeks a neutral point of view; I believe the Wikipedia community easily remedy any potential tone of advocacy, propaganda or self-promotion without having to delete the whole article.--2607:F010:2E9:7:1D0E:F7C2:92DA:E45E (talk) 21:32, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
- Did someone tell you to come here and say this? I only ask because you are bringing it up around 17 hours after the CSD was removed entirely. If so, it's really not helping the case that this is "not promotion". That said, I don't think it's in much danger of being deleted at this point, as it has been significantly cleaned up. It still needs some attention from someone who has no conflict of interest, though. 0x0077BE [talk/contrib] 22:06, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
