Comments
editJust a question, I came to this page from a link on Wikipedia:Google_test naming it as a search engine, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of a search engine here. Is this an error?

Removed two disambiguation links
editI removed the following disambiguation links:
- Function Analysis System Technique
- Free And Secure Trade - Canada Border Services Agency
The first because there is no article, and it seems an unlikely topic to have one written about, and the second because it was an external link. -- Natalya 04:37, 15 January 2006 (UTC)
- I removed the link. The most likely reason they had this up here was because of the link juice from Google, there's really no other reason. 82.37.181.78 (talk) 16:37, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
As I've noted elsewhere, these are not Disambiguation pages. There was a recent straw poll to remove them as Disambiguation sub-categories. However, they do look a lot like them, and should be as easy to use.
Over at that Talk page, we've been discussing use of semi-colon "headers" and simpler display. Also, the most commonly referenced item here serendipitously happens to be the first alphabetically. Always check the link counts before re-ordering! In this case, alphabetically is best.
Missing Cross-reference
editThere should be a cross-reference to Fast Auroral Snapshot Explorer (FAST). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.73.31.50 (talk) 19:07, 7 February 2010 (UTC)
FAST vs Fast
editWhy is this at FAST and not Fast? Many of the entries are not acronyms, including two people's names I am adding. It seems to me that putting it under all caps violates the WP:EN naming convention. . . Jim - Jameslwoodward (talk to me • contribs) 13:33, 19 January 2014 (UTC)

Fast → FAST – As per the RM discussion at Talk:Slow (disambiguation), evidence is available to show that speed is the predominant long-term significant meaning of the word "fast", and most of the entries disambiguated on this page correspond to the use of "FAST" as an acronym or abbreviation. So this page should redirect to the "speed" page, just like "slow".
Well, shouldn't the best thing we can do is split this article off into separate dab pages for Fast (disambiguation) and FAST? <<< SOME GADGET GEEK >>> (talk) 20:28, 29 November 2015 (UTC)"Why is this at FAST and not Fast? - Not to mention the discussion at Talk:Slow (disambiguation) did not even discuss the having the word capitalized so I don't see how it could possibly be used to support renaming this page FAST.--67.68.208.55 (talk) 02:51, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Mild support, but to Fast (disambiguation) we don't use the CAPS as dab baseline unless exclusively CAPS. The entries here aren't. In ictu oculi (talk) 21:41, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose the discussion as "slow" is not relevant, since there is no such thing as a "slow", while a "fast" is not eating. -- 70.51.44.60 (talk) 04:18, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose. WP:Other stuff exists regarding the slow pages. And please provide evidence that "speed is the predominant long-term significant meaning of the word 'fast'". If "evidence is available" please provide it. Generally, you cannot make such claims without proof. I don't see anything explicitly on Talk:Slow (disambiguation) that shows this information (the last commentator on that discussion appears to have only done a search engine analysis on the word "slow"[1] but does not look like he never really did one for the word "fast"). Otherwise, the fast page should remain that status quo and NOT be converted to a WP:PRIMARYREDIRECT to speed. AFAIK, the word "fast" has two primary, equally long-term significant meanings: "fast" in regards to speed and "fast" as in fasting. Zzyzx11 (talk) 07:51, 30 November 2015 (UTC)

- Oppose – Wikipedia avoids excess capitalization, and many of the disambiguated titles do not use all-caps. —BarrelProof (talk) 16:36, 30 November 2015 (UTC)
- Oppose: adjectives are unlikely search terms, so most users looking up "Fast" will not want an article about Speed. They might want a dictionary entry, if they don't understand that this is an encyclopedia not a dictionary, but the dab page provides the Wiktionary link for them. PamD 11:59, 1 December 2015 (UTC)
