What to Include?
editI don't think a complete list of films screened at each festival is appropriate. That's probably just way too much information. What about the list of films that received awards at the festival, followed by an abbreviated list of other screened films?
Here is the list of award winners for 2006:
Audience Awards
editShort Film Awards
edit- Best of Show: The Listening Dead
- Best Short Form: The Cost of Living
- Best Long Form: Rógairí (Villians)
- Best Animated: If I Had a Hammer
- Best Comedy: They're Made Out of Meat
Horror Jury Awards
edit- Best Picture: Isolation
- Best Director: Billy O'Brien, Isolation
- Best Script: Dylan Bank and Morgan Pehme, Nightmare
- Best Actor: Kane Hodder, Hatchet
- Best Actress: Nicole Roderick, Nightmare
- Best Supporting Actor: Lance Henriksen, Abominable
- Best Supporting Actress: Kristen Bell, Roman
- Best Art Direction: Alex Boynton, Unrest
- Best Cinematography: Robbie Ryan, Isolation
- Best Special Effects: Hatchet
- Best Make-up: Broken
Special Mention of the Horror Jury:
- Best Musical Score Ever: Lalo Schifrin, Abominable

- Better late than never with a reply - this looks reasonable and manageable. Particular years could be broken off into separate stubs after a few years. — WiseKwai 18:31, 11 October 2007 (UTC)
- After reading through more Wikipedia film festival and movie pages, I think the awards, if notable, should be listed in the articles for the movies themselves. On the other hand, the things notable about Fantastic Fest are the movies that premiered here, as well as the special screening films as those tend to be new/interesting content. Anyway, that's the format I've applied to the years, and I'll use that moving forward. I don't actually know what movies premiered each year; I'll try to dig out my programs to verify. (I don't see it on the 2007 archived site, and I don't see the 2006 site online any more.) N Norder (talk) 00:01, 24 February 2008 (UTC)
Notability Warning
editI disagree with the notability warning tag on this article. Wikipedia is home to a "Film festivals in the United States" category with hundreds of small festivals listed. Moreover it hosts a "Fantastic film festivals" category with more than a dozen festivals worldwide. It is certainly no less notable than those. Most recently, note that Fantastic Fest hosted the world premiere for There Will Be Blood, a film nominated for Best Picture at the 2008 Academy Awards. -- N Norder (talk) 21:46, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
- I've found numerous wikipedia pages that mention Fantastic Fest but fail to link to it. Adding appropriate links should boost the number of pages that reference this article, and hence it's notability. N Norder (talk) 22:44, 22 February 2008 (UTC)
Quality / References
editI added some references to some things today to help reduce the amount of junk at the top of the article. More will come as I get time and sleep. Some material from 2008 was added with and without references for now.N Norder (talk) 05:00, 22 September 2008 (UTC)
Splitting proposal
editI propose that the section about list of festivals be split into a separate page called List of Fantastic Fest festivals. I need explanation of what the list are. -St3095 (?) 06:08, 23 September 2024 (UTC)
- I think it would be better to separate year by year, as is done by default for other festival articles. no? Theys York (talk) 05:50, 28 October 2024 (UTC)
