Translation of 精 jing
editOh please, who thought they were clever in trying to translate 精 as "semen"? That is only one of its many secondary meanings. The primary and most common nominal meaning of 精 is simply "essense" or "spirit" (its most common adjectival meaning is "perfect"). "Semen" is more commonly written as the compound 精液 in modern Chinese.
