"Canada's most famous intersection"?

edit

It's entirely possible that Portage & Main is Canada's most famous intersection, but it's something we'd need to verify. As a Canadian, I've certainly heard of Portage & Main, but it doesn't seem as well-known as, say, Bloor & Yonge (or Dundas & Yonge) in Toronto, or Peel & St. Catherine in Montreal. I believe that the gallery in Exchange District is appropriate according to these standards.

Yes Galleries are used in articles but as referenced in the WP:IG you referenced:
One rule of thumb to consider: if, due to its content, such a gallery would only lend itself to a title along the lines of "Gallery" or "Images of [insert article title]", as opposed to a more descriptive title, the gallery should either be revamped or moved to the Commons.
A example of good uses of galleries is provided in the link as well 1750–1795 in fashion. This article links pictures that cannot be adequately expressed through words. Though it may be "common practice" at least until I see links to other Good Article reviewed pages that use galleries in a similar fashion as on the Exchange District, then I just assume that this is simply a "Gallery" and the commons category link as is on nearly every GA page is sufficient. I am unopposed either way, but it just seems messy and a shameless image plug in its current format. Wiki is an encyclopedia not an image gallery, that is what the Commons is for. I still have not seen any evidence how this gallery is simply not just images of the Exchange District or a virtual tour through Commons photos. If the gallery conveys something that cannot be expressed through words it is useful to Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, otherwise it is simply an insertion of pictures. Since there are already three pictures in the article it does not make sense to use them entirely. I would be happy to whip up a montage similar to the ones I made for Winnipeg or Mississauga infoboxes if people want more pictures included. But the current format is not conducive to Wikipedia. Chicago

edit

I googled "Chicago of the North" because several towns in the Georgian Bay area seem to claim this title. I was surprised to find that Winnipeg does too. I think it might be worth noting that at least Port McNicoll, Collingwood and Owen Sound all claimed, or claimed to claim, this title. Maury Markowitz (talk) 11:34, 14 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Demographics - 2016 Population

Requesting that someone update the population figures to more recent, as the article has very outdated data from 2006. Jimj wpg (talk) 12:56, 18 September 2019 (UTC)Reply
