Flower

edit

For some odd reasons I thought there were two possible flower colours - I might be wrong - and dont expect an answer for ages - but if someone reads this - is the colour as in flower shot the only caesia colour? I thought there was a variant - cheers SatuSuro 04:43, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I've checked several books and all describe E. caesia as having pink to red flowers. I notice, however, that some websites state that flowers are "normally pink to red in colour but white flowered plants are known" (eg ASGAP). FWIW, I suspect that a white flowered cultivator would be pretty hard to find. Debate 10:07, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

Thanks for that - appreciate the trouble - I think my issue is that I have seen much pinker varieties compared to the photo - and your answer has solved it - I would never have expected a florescence from a eucalypt with white for some intuitive reason - however jarrah flowers can verge on it - the photo I have added is from a definite weeping variety of about 3 metre height on laterite on an old railway yard revegetation location SatuSuro 11:30, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

The vast majority I've seen are red, but there's at least one pink one here: http://flickr.com/photos/8198674@N05/2520816192/ :-) Debate 12:03, 9 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
