UFMRA Enactment in the United States

edit

The statement regarding which U.S. states had not enacted the Uniform Foreign Money-Judgments Recognition Act was originally not correct. California enacted it on November 8, 1967(Code of Civ. Proc. ss. 1713, et seq., and Massachusetts did so on September 3, 1966. Lottamiata 23:20, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Are these the missing two? The current version says 46 did and 2 didn't, which doesn't add up.--QuantumEngineer 20:11, 11 December 2006 (UTC)Reply
The confusion is between the acts for uniform enforcement of judgments of foreign countries (UFMRA) and enforcement of judgments of other states of the US (UEFJA). CA and MA have not adopted the UEFJA. I changed the article. Ellsworth 21:33, 17 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

The "judicial isolationism" comment was inappropriate- if anything major areas of foreign law would be better off with US law under quarantine, particularly "intellectual property." I'm sure half the people who agree with you would also agree with that so why muddy the issue?
