United States

edit

Obviously we need a section here for electronic voting in the United States. Anyone looking to take a crack, the Election Assistance Commission's 2004 Election Day Survey would probably be a great start. --Electiontechnology 02:46, 12 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

POV concerns

edit

This article is heavily biased in favour of electronic voting. The examples praise the alleged successes (India, Estonia) while skating over where e-voting has been abandoned (Ireland, Netherlands, Germany). Flagboy (talk) 21:36, 3 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Heavily biased?? The section about Estonia makes only statements, all sourced. Where's the POV? Please explain! --Vihelik (talk) 22:45, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
The article certainly does not skate over the controversies in Ireland, Netherlands, or Germany. Links are provided to articles with more detail. Please bear in mind that the purpose of this article is to list examples of electronic voting, not to discuss the merits of it. --Vihelik (talk) 22:55, 6 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
No response in 11 days, removing POV tag. --Vihelik (talk) 21:06, 14 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Electronic voting examplesElectronic voting by country – "Electronic voting examples" is no proper, encyclopedic topic. Electronic voting by country is at least acceptable, per various precedent, including Elections by country. -- PanchoS (talk) 19:16, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Merge discussion

edit

I have proposed merging the Electronic voting#United States section into the corresponding section of this article. It doesn't make sense to me to duplicate the material, and this more specific article seems like the proper place for it. Curb Safe Charmer (talk) 11:56, 18 December 2017 (UTC)Reply

Move country sections from Electronic voting to here?

edit

Many countries have summary sections in this article and in Electronic voting, as well as their own individual articles, like Electronic voting in Brazil. So new information has to be added to the individual country articles, then summarized here and in Electronic voting. Or people add info in one of the summaries without putting it in the other articles. It's hard to keep three places consistent.

I suggest moving the individual country sections from Electronic voting to here, so only this article and the full article for each country will need to be maintained. That will leave Electronic voting as a general discussion of issues which affect the various countries, and it will be easier to maintain and more manageable in size.
