editE Nomine means "in the name of" or "out of the name" ? I think it is the first one, because it is named like that in other languages wikipage for this group.
E Nomine, in, out, and Christianity.
editE Nomine does not mean out of the name. E Nomine means in the name of. This can be demonstrated in the prayer E Nomine patris et filii et spiritu sancti (In the name of the Father, the son, and the holy spirit). Also, E Nomine is not a Catholic/Christian project. They only have one CD dealing with religious things. This doesn't make them a Christian group, though. It just means they used it for some of their content.
One? Nope. Pretty much all of their albums have songs dealing with religious themes. But are they Christian? We don't know. Sion 19:24, 23 July 2007 (UTC)
- Well, I don't know many Christian groups who would use inverted pentagrams on their album covers. Though this does not mean that they are affiliated with any left hand path either. Many musicians use such themes for their music, but it does not mean that they follow those beliefs.JanderVK (talk) 06:25, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
-- This is true although they use the Pentagram/Pentacle, does not mean that they are Satanic or Devil Worshippers per se. Motley Crue used the Pentagram on their Album "Theater Of Pain" and they are not Satanists, most likely just for show. Andy_Howard (talk) 22:41, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
Actually alot of their CD's have religious themes/overtones "Der Prophetzeiung"(sp?) "Das Testemant" to name a couple. Most of their songs deal with Satan, God, Heaven, Hell, the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ. They even have a song named "Vater Unser" ("Our Father"--The Lord's Prayer Matthew 6:9) Andy_Howard (talk) 22:38, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
E Nomine, from, out from.
editI was under the impression that the prayer was "In nomine patris..." "E" is short of "ex" as in "ex libris" from the library of. "e pluribus unum" from many, one. The U.S.A. motto for example. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 129.120.244.208 (talk) 20:16, 5 May 2007 (UTC).
- Yes, in nomine means "in the name of" which is the beginning of Pater Noster (Our Father). E(x) nomine means "out of the name." Nikki (talk) 22:27, 30 December 2011 (UTC)
- E nomine and Ex nomine mean "the name of" and "in the name of", respectively. "Out of the name" would be De nomine. One cannot use E pluribus unum as an example, because pluribus is an adjective/adverb, whilst nomine is a noun with adjective like usages.71.236.189.111 (talk) 04:02, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think you're confusing this with the phrase "In Nomine".82.83.97.53 (talk) 16:52, 27 April 2012 (UTC)
- My Latin-English dictionary lists many definitions for "e/ex", none of which is "in". Some of the above users are definitely confusing this with the Latin invocation "in nomine patris, et filii, et spiritus sancti". "E nomine" is an artistic variant that would mean "from the name" or "out of the name". Incidentally, the United States motto "e pluribus unum" does contain the same form, 'e', followed by the nominalized adjective 'pluribus' (plural ablative form of 'plus') and the neuter pronoun/numeral 'unum', thus 'from many, one'. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.160.206.173 (talk) 12:07, 29 October 2012 (UTC)

I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. Possible new activity?
editThere's been a song going around titled Padre Nuestro. Basically, Vater Unser, just in Spanish. I've also noticed that a rather clear recording of Excalibur popped up too, the only version I knew of before being a live recording on YouTube. Any chance this might mean E Nomine is stirring? If not, could anyone shed some light on these songs? 76.204.145.213 (talk) 18:02, 1 November 2009 (UTC)Anon
article title change
editIs it possible to change the title of the article to E Nomine (band) to avoid confusion. I was looking for the band but I was thinking that some people maybe looking for the actual phrase in Latin (in context to E Nomine Patris Et Filia Es Spiritu Sancti). Or maybe put a Disambiguate page to help out. Andy_Howard (talk) 22:59, 1 March 2012 (UTC)
