The result of the move request was: Moved, evidence that "Dwight Evans" is more likely a WP:COMMONNAME, oppositions countered (non-admin closure) — Andy W. (talk) 00:26, 12 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dwight E. EvansDwight Evans (politician) – Not able to have Dwight Evans as a page name as that is already in use, it will have to be changed to Dwight Evans (politician) RandyL21 (talk) 15:15, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Why? What is achieved by moving an article and moving all of its incoming links? Using a middle initial to disambiguate is just as good as a parenthetical, especially if the subject is already known using it. JesseRafe (talk) 17:35, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
This article was already moved from Dwight Evans (Pennsylvania politician) to this pagespace, and this source for the middle initial was given on a PDF no longer sourced by the PA Auditor General, but I doubt was a hoax. JesseRafe (talk) 19:47, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Reply
If your primary objection is lack of confirmation that the middle initial is "E." perhaps a single Google search can remedy that, here are various official government documents using it: SEPTA Fiscal Year 2016 Operating Budget, page 3, The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, May 2009, page 125, Hazardous Sites Cleanup Fund, page 61 etc etc, I'm sure there are hundreds. His name, of course is "Dwight", not "Dwight E.", "E." is not part of his first name but his middle initial, no more than "Evans" is part of his first name, I don't follow the argument in your second sentence. 1) When the article was created, the original main title header should have been Dwight Evans (politician), not Dwight Evans (Pennsylvania politician), since there are no Wikipedia articles highlighting politicians named "Dwight Evans" who represent any other states.
2) While the three links you provided do confirm the existence and occasional official use of the middle initial "E." [the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board use of the name is on page 113, not the non-existent page 125, and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection use of the name is on page 51, not the non-existent page 61], there is still no evidence that such use represents subject's WP:COMMONNAME.
3) In fact, the opposite appears to be true. Under the article's section header "External Links", there are Pennsylvania House of Representatives - Dwight Evans official PA House website, Pennsylvania House Democratic Caucus - Rep. Dwight Evans official Party website, Project Vote Smart - Representative Dwight Evans (PA) profile and Follow the Money - Dwight Evans: 2006 2004 2002 2000 1998 campaign contributions, with all of these key links indicating "Dwight Evans", not "Dwight E. Evans".
4) Furthermore, subject's own campaign website lists him as "Dwight Evans", with not a single indication of "E." thus indicating subject's preference per WP:Naming conventions (identity)#Self-identification.
5) All 10 inline cites appended to the article reference him as "Dwight Evans" with, again, no mention of "Dwight E. Evans", thus confirming his WP:COMMONNAME.
6) Finally, I regret the misunderstanding caused by my writing, "All appended inline cites and external links indicate his name as "Dwight", not "Dwight E."". It was simply a shorthand way of stating, "All appended inline cites and external links indicate his name as "Dwight Evans", not "Dwight E. Evans"". —Roman Spinner (talk)(contribs) 23:51, 4 November 2016 (UTC)Reply

Dwight Evan's photo is awkwardly small. Is there a bigger public domain image from the Library of Congress? Lasalleexplorer (talk) 15:49, 16 February 2017 (UTC)Reply
