editThe DIN standard that brought me here, and is probably the most familiar to Americans, is for in-dash car stereo head units. Yet I don't see this example mentioned? Redneb 15:42, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
DIN == Das ist Norm In english:"This is standart"
DIN is something Germans can be proud of!
- I agree; as a "run of the mill" American, I have never heard DIN used for anything other than "in-dash car stereo head units".

To me, what comes to mind are the "DIN numbers" used to specify the adjustable load limits of modern ski bindings :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brosasaki (talk • contribs) 14:03, 19 November 2023 (UTC)
DIN creation date.
editWas it really 1975?
My dad had an old zeiss camera Kontaflex from the 60's.. I recall the film speeds were marked in DIN, we needed a little chart to convert ASA to DIN film speed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.51.236.225 (talk) 00:57, 12 June 2015 (UTC)
- You might find DIN film speed helpful. --Matthiaspaul (talk) 00:09, 30 July 2015 (UTC)
