An IP says in their edit summary: 'Degei (phonetically spelt Ndengei) was described as the Great Serpent in Fijian creation myths. (Refer to Myths &Legends of Fijiand Rotuma by A.W. Reed and Inez Hames if you don't believe me') - well not sure I do believe you, since Serpent is an English word, and I doubt the Fijians used English in their creation myth, and A.W. Reed was a New Zealand European and an (amateur) historian who liked adding romantic phraseology like 'Great Serpent', and Inez Hames doesn't sound too Fijian... 'Serpent' means the same as 'snake' anyway. Kahuroa19:54, 4 April 2007 (UTC)Reply
