Poorly Written

edit

I just removed this; it was the second paragraph in the article:

Prof. Lau says - don't really stress this. Jurisdiction to jurisdiction this changes and Matt dreamed up a thoery of avoiding liabilty with a sign ~ which is most likely not going to be good law in any jurisdiction.

It reads like offhand notes to someone and misspells "liability" and "theory". Someone with knowledge on this subject in English law needs to rewrite this article or it should be deleted altogether as it is so poorly written. —-- Blanchette (talk) 19:26, 16 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

English Law?

edit

Why not British Law or UK Law? English law made me think it was a discussion of English Common Law, not modern British jurisprudence. I had to read the entire article to realize this was a discussion of defense of property in the modern day UK. Beerslurpy (talk) 20:36, 28 March 2008 (UTC)Reply

Out of date

edit

As of 2013, this article is rather out of date concerning "current" provisions for householders in the UK defending themselves against intruders. Disproportionate force can now be permitted provided it isn't "grossly disproportionate". http://www.cps.gov.uk/legal/s_to_u/self_defence/#a01 77.96.101.104 (talk) 19:09, 10 November 2014 (UTC)Reply
