Alliance vs. alliance
editThe English translation might list it as "alliance", but, since it's a government body, it should be capitalized. Also, the translation was done by a third party, and while the word is indeed lower-case in the original Russian text, certain language rules have to apply when translating. - Sorry, I should discuss it before changing! So, your idea is to write "Alliance"? Feel free to change! My reason to write "alliance" was that it was referred to as in that way in the English text, I thought we should better adhere to it, but of course it's your word which is decisive here. ellol 16:30, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- My word? I'm not a moderator. Everyone is free to contribute. I just figured that the literal translation might not be quite right. It's customary for an organization to start with capital letters, unless specified otherwise (e.g. id Software). If you still feel that the article should stick with the English text, I am not going to change it. By the way, do you know where I can find the full version of the English text? The PDF I found only has a portion. Chronolegion 17:10, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well I had no idea about this rule of English language. I indeed have no idea what's more correct. So better decide you.
- The first idea is to buy the book, the second is to ask the writer directly... Or you may try to ask him about your questions with that book without sending the full text.. No recipe, but you could try. ellol 20:10, 6 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I still have the Russian text file somewhere. It's easier to find. I didn't realize the English translation was ever published. Couldn't find it on Amazon or eBay. Chronolegion 12:47, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- They say, it was published as "print-on-demand" in 2004 in Capricorn Publishing. There are no references to the book at their main page. Perhaps we could mail them to clarify the fate of the book? ellol 18:57, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
- I'll try to send them an email today and let you know. Chronolegion 16:14, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
- Ok. This would be just great. ellol 21:08, 8 November 2006 (UTC)
