He's actually Norweigian (Norweigian-American to be precise). The slightly asian looking eyes occur with some Norweigians.

There are a few different theories as to why: One likely reason is that Norway is actually not far from Russia where people have some central-asian ancestry mixed in with European heritage.

Another theory (not as far-fetched as some may think) is that there may have been some Native American crossings over the North Pole/Arctic regions into Scandanavia in the distant past. Believe it or not, some Scandinavian DNA and also Scandinavian blood types have been found in a few far-northern Native American tribes in North America, so such ancient crossings are likely to have occured. Modern crossings (North America to Scandanavia via the arctic ice) **mostly on foot/dogsleds also with some major sea kayaking** have been done and so why not more ancient crossings?

Whatever the source, you have to admit, he's a good looking guy!
