Huge cleanup needed
editNabudere is a hugely important Ugandan political figure and African Studies academic figure both. His notability is pretty unquestionable to anyone studying either. Unfortunately this article, written in one blow by someone whose username also includes Dani Nabudere’s surname, is simply not written in an encyclopedic style or neutral tone. This risks complete deletion on Wikipedia, as more experienced editors will know.
Included concerns begin with style and tone of writing, which must be cleaned up line by line, but also includes the use of hyperlinks in place of inline citations throughout the entire article. Formatting, from headings to lists to sections, fails to use Wikipedia standards and so must all be revised.
Again, he is a very important subject, with extensive public recognition as an intellectual, huge bibliography, and huge press coverage. A total reworking is needed before this article can be expanded to meet the notability of this biography. T L Miles (talk) 05:30, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
Added to both Uganda & Socialism Projects. Nabudere remains hugely influential as a Pan-Africanist Marxist theorist, and any cleanup should be attentive to both these often rival povs, as well as the subject’s notability as a political activist and office holder in Ugandan history. I’ve made a start, added several published references and done a first clean up. It can use much more. The original web references may be salvageable if properly formatted, and inline citations are still needed to be placed properly. Also there are several parts of the biography that could be substantially expanded. T L Miles (talk) 08:40, 11 October 2021 (UTC)
I think I’ve managed to fix the Peacock, Tone, and Cleanup-Reorganize issues I tagged yesterday, and so have removed those warnings. There’s still much to do, beginning with properly formatting previous bare link references, properly using existing references to add inline citations to many parts of the text (I think the existing & new references, especially the three published short biographies, are enough to support almost everything, but specific page numbers need to be identified and added as footnotes) AND much expansion is needed of both biographical content, historical context, and published assessments of his academic work in the 70s and the 90s-2011 period, which are very different in some ways.
