Is “Oscar–winning film California Suite” accurate?
editA minor issue:
The lead section of this article refers to “the Oscar–winning film California Suite”.
That, to me, seems to suggest that the filn itself won an Oscar in any of the categories where the nominees are, in essence, the films themselves, like Best Picture.
Maggie Smith won Best Supporting Actress for her role in California Suite (film), and that was the sole Academy Award awarded to anybody for their work on this film.
Is it that sufficient reason to refer to it as an “Oscar–winning film”? I would not ordinarily take it to be. Foxmilder (talk) 08:15, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
