Dairy Queen in Moline and Green River
editThe story of the founding of DQ as I grew up hearing it involved sites in Moline Illinois and in nearly Green River/Colona, and an investor named Morey Nelson. Nelson was a friend/mentor of my uncle. I often was with my cousin playing in their yard when Nelson pulled up in his old Buick; invariably, he brought a sack of Dilly Bars for us kids. The story I learned later was that Nelson, who was a stock broker, had been approached by the inventor of the soft serve machine, and ultimately helped finance DQ. A store in Moline was the first store of their joint venture, and they set up a warehouse of sorts in Green River. The Wikipedia article on sort serve mentions some of this. Country Basket
editThroughout my life I've bounced back and forth between Colorado and Texas. Why is the Country Basket (Steakfinger Basket) not available in Colorado? All they have is the Chicken Strip basket. Are the steakfingers only available in Texas (or other southern states)? Crackawoods (talk) 17:39, 24 January 2023 (UTC)
Well apparently they were never available in Colorado but they were available in other states, however now they're only available in Texas and nowhere else.
