Title

edit

When this show ran during January I remember it being on my TV guide as "Cuomo Primetime" rather than "Cuomo Prime Time". Do we know if it's going to keep the same name when it comes back or change to this new capitalisation? The CNN Commentary source used in the lead section uses "Primetime". – numbermaniac 23:30, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Hi numbermaniac and thanks for your question. Yes, I must say that I had initially thought the same too, or that at least the title in either the first or second trial runs of the program had combined the last two words thus: "PrimeTime". However, memory can sometimes play tricks and it seems that not only we, but both your TV guide and the CNN Commentary source, were mistaken. Having read numerous sources (many more than those listed in the References section) and seen several recent on-air promos for the new program on CNN itself during the last few days (which includes a truncated version of the title sequence), I can confirm that the capitalised words 'PRIME' and 'TIME' are indeed separate. You can also check out these two videos, which (obviously) I couldn't use as citations in the article itself: the first showing the program's title sequence at the beginning of a full edition of the program broadcast in August last year (during the program's first trial run) - the words on the studio projection panel behind Chris Cuomo at the beginning of the program (and further along the studio wall, admittedly mostly out of camera shot, throughout the program), providing further confirmation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4FqSUlKWsQA, while the second shows a program trailer broadcast on CNN International in January this year (in the second trial run) - again with the two words clearly separated: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xc5glMSDu3I I hope they help clarify and resolve the matter further! Ahh, looks like the current title is right then. Thank you for explaining! – numbermaniac 08:11, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply
Glad we agree, haha ;) Yes, I think the evidence does seem to fairly conclusively indicate that — at least from what I've read/seen so far. You're most welcome! - Zhu Haifeng (talk) 11:14, 10 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Termination.

edit

It’s 12/5/2021, and there’s no mention on this page of Chris Cuomo’s termination by CNN and additional material about C. C.’s own sexual misconduct. 2601:19C:4800:31D0:70EA:1567:F565:322F (talk) 14:57, 5 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

The sexual misconduct allegations are covered on his own page. At the moment, (as far as I know), neither incident has been linked to the program itself nor his subsequent termination. If further reporting reveals the more recent allegation to have been regarding behavior while on the show, or the termination to have been linked to the accusations, I think it would warrant inclusion here. Until then, I think covering his termination and CNN's stated rational is sufficient.
It has been reported that the sexual misconduct allegations figured into CNN's determination to terminate Chris. See the edits I made on the article page, along with a cited source. 97.124.152.48 (talk) 01:37, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Given the recent NYT article raising the question ("It was not fully clear what role the allegation played in CNN’s decision to dismiss Mr. Cuomo") I could see arguing some similar brief mention is warranted - but that seems fairly speculative at this point, and it is already covered on his primary page. “Prime-time hole in CNN’s coverage of” (A. Cuomo sex scandal)

edit

Chris Cuomo recused himself from reporting on the scandal, leaving a prime-time hole in CNN’s coverage of what was turning out to be a national news story. -NYT 12/5/2021
