Fair use rationale for Image:Cumberland.svg
editImage:Cumberland.svg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
GA on hold
editOK, I'll post stuff as I go through it....Casliber (talk · contribs) 03:41, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- Statistically, they are worst club ever, only lasting eight games in their inaugural and only season. - does sound a little POV (even if true). I'd reword it to make it 'worst statistics' or something similar.
- Kings School - needs linking
- Newinton - ? Newington? college?
- Done Yes it was Newington, I checked the source. Not a college though. The Windler talk 06:28, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
- has advertised - "had advertised" I think, or plain 'advertised'
- tried to push Cumberland to merge with nearby team.. - try "proposed they merge with nearby team.."
- no merger would happen so.. - "the clubs involved declined so.. "
- Cumberland's feasibility as a possible club - try "they could be competitive"
- mearly a badge with a letter 'C'. - should this be the the club's first letter, or did all clubs have a 'C'? And it's 'merely'
- Done reworded. The Windler talk 06:28, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
I made some straightforward grammar fixes, finally. I am aware of the limited nature of the source material and am happy to pass it as GA after the above fixes. If you wanted to be really keen, I'd recommend going up the local libary (if you're in NSW) and having a look at microfiches of the Sydney Morning Herald on some of the dates after some of the matches (say, the first and last as well as their winning one) and you copuld probably get a few more match details there. GA passed
editI figure the grammar and prose are pretty good now. I know it's short but there is just about all the possible info available on Cumberland here. The only thing I could think of is getting some stuff out of old heralds or telegraphs. Ditto with images, which'd be nearly impossible. Casliber (talk · contribs) 07:47, 10 March 2008 (UTC)

Move
editShouldn't this article just be moved to the club's official name? Just as Bulldogs (rugby league team) was moved to Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club.--Jeff79 (talk) 09:36, 13 March 2008 (UTC)
- I don't think this club has a proper title, it was officially known as Central Cumberland. But that is also a place, so no real point. The Windler talk 05:53, 15 March 2008 (UTC)
