Trade
editOn December 15 2019. The Cleveland Indians traded Corey Kluber to the Texas Rangers for Outfeilder Delino Desheilds JR. and right handed Minor League pitcher Emmanuel Clase PJackson1988 (talk) 18:54, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
- PJackson1988, please provide reliable sources that confirm this. Because all I see are unencyclopedic "breaking news" reports that are unconfirmed. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:12, 15 December 2019 (UTC) https://www.mlb.com/breaking-news/corey-kluber-trade
- PJackson1988, "Rangers agree to trade for Corey Kluber (sources)" is not confirmation. The article begins: "The Rangers have agreed to a trade for two-time Cy Young Award winner Corey Kluber from the Indians, sources told MLB.com's TR Sullivan. MLB Network insider Ken Rosenthal first reported the two teams were near a deal. The clubs haven't confirmed the reports." In other words, we do nothing for now. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:33, 15 December 2019 (UTC)
Can someone edit the Corey Kluber page to say he's on the Yankees now? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Huggingpanda14 (talk • contribs) 02:24, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Huggingpanda14 no, as Kluber is not yet an official member of the Yankees. Free agent signings can take days or even weeks to become official, for various reasons including the players needed to take and pass a physical exam (and any issues that are discovered can delay things further or even stop a signing). Player pages should not be updated until a signing is confirmed by the team; an excellent source for checking status of signings and trades is https://www.mlb.com/yankees/roster/transactions for the Yankees and the equivalent page for other teams. - Made official today (January 27th) and the page has been updated. Note that it took over a month from when first reported to become official. Dmoore5556 (talk) 23:22, 27 January 2021 (UTC)
I think Kluber's photo should be changed from the Rangers since he only pitched one inning for them. 88T3 (talk) 17:04, 7 June 2022 (UTC)
