Page restored as a redirect to Republic

edit

The history of this entry (Constitutional republic) is that it was, at different times, an article, a redirect, and non-existent (due to having been deleted on more than one occasion; please refer to the delete log and the 2012 AfD discussion). After that, it was re-created as a redirect (which is allowed) but then deleted again later under CSD G4 speedy-deletion criteria because someone turned it into an article again. Therefore, if you are considering putting an article here, there is the possibility that it will be subject to speedy-deletion under the same criteria. So I suggest keeping it as a redirect.

Apparently, this page existed as a redirect to Republic at one time (according to a June 2017 talk page discussion), and I have restored it to that state. As far as I can tell, this is a good redirect target because the Republic article gives some explanation of the term "constitutional republic", and seems to be saying that the term may be roughly synonymous with "Republic" but not quite. Republic is the only article I know of that gives any explanation or clarification of the term "constitutional republic" so my suggestion is to keep this as the redirect target. -- HLachman (talk) 23:55, 11 September 2018 (UTC)Reply
