Conjugation in algae
edit- "involves fusion of cells but not filaments.":refer to a form
What is this supposed to mean? Conjugation occurs in filamentous algae, such as the Zygnematales or Conjugales. In these, scalariform conjugation can involve nearly the entire filament. If fusion of a filament does not mean fusion of its cells, this is a meaningless distinction, since the aforementioned filamentous algae are one cell thick. Would someone explain what fusion of a filament would be? --♦♦♦Vlmastra♦♦♦ (talk) 23:35, 14 April 2008 (UTC)
Conjugation in chemistry/biochemistry
editThe statement "Conjugation (biochemistry), the turning of substances into a hydrophilic state in the body" does not jive with the way the term is used in the biochemical/pharmaceutical/medical literature at all, and seems to have been added by someone only familiar with the CYP450-mediated version. I suggest someone with a wider spectrum of competence edit it, along with the redirection to the biotransformation page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.238.33.226 (talk) 12:47, 21 February 2016 (UTC)
