Removing link "theafricangreyparrot.com". User has been repeatedly adding this link to any and all parrot pages as if Wikipedia were an advertising forum. Has been adding similar links for a fishing website to all pages related to trout, and the same IP has been vandalizing other bird-related pages.

Watch for and recommend removing the link if it is reverted back. DrNixon 04:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

rename article to "Pet parrots"?

edit

Does anybody actually use the term "companion parrot"? I don't know much about parrots but I would think the article is better served as "Pet parrots" or "Parrots as pets". Comments? Jason Quinn (talk) 21:18, 21 February 2011 (UTC)Reply

A quick Google (and Google Scholar) search would suggest that the term 'companion parrot' is in fairly regular use - however, feel free to request a move if you think that your suggestions are more appropriate. I'm not particularly fussed either way. I will redirect 'Pet parrots' and 'Parrots as pets' here for the time being, as these are probably useful search terms... --Kurt Shaped Box (talk) 00:38, 1 March 2011 (UTC)Reply
I think the redirect is perfectly sufficient. --Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 14:34, 9 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

Could be nice to have a history section, I'm thinking of sailors, pirates and all sorts of other colourful stuff. FunkMonk (talk) 19:58, 2 August 2012 (UTC)Reply

While very informative, this article reads more like a “how-to” guide to parrot ownership than an encyclopedia entry. It should be edited for a more detached, impersonal tone. 2601:801:1:28E0:49D6:AAA8:E489:6C30 (talk) 20:34, 30 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
