History 1970
editGiven that prior to joining the Common Market (as it was in 1970) the UK only claimed exclusive fishing rights to 12 nautical miles from its coastline. I doubt that this small area contained four fifths of all the fish of Western Europe so would question the claim that by signing the "Accession Treaty on 22 January 1972, thereby handing over an estimated four fifths of all the fish off Western Europe" is true. - It may well be true in respect of all the fish within 12 miles of the coast of Western Europe, however. 109.145.109.91 (talk) 21:05, 18 June 2016 (UTC)
The 1970 section is also written to imply the founding members of the EEC ganged up on the new members opportunistically. Perhaps that's true, but it would need sources. I'm not sure it currently adheres to NPOV. —ajf (talk) 21:07, 15 February 2017 (UTC)
1964 London Fisheries Convention
editI am going to create a article on the 1964 London Fisheries Covention as there is no article on this and also there is no mention of the agreeement at all in this article, this international was the fore-runner to the Common Fisheries Policy and should be mention as it's extremely noteworthy not only in its history but also in its part to create the CFP. Map reference
editThe first map reference is a dead link. I have tried and failed to find a replacement reference. Can an expert help? 81.131.171.79 (talk) 09:10, 3 July 2017 (UTC)
- Could a new more detailed and accurate map be made as I am very surprise that we still have a relatively primitive map that only shows a rough outline of the economic area of the common fisheries policy. (MOTORAL1987 (talk) 15:57, 3 July 2017 (UTC))
