Colors Kannada is a channel owned by Viacom18 which is a joint venture between Viacom and TV18(a subsidiary of Network18).[1] From 2000-2014, ETV Kannada channel was owned by Prism TV(a subsidiary of ETV Network). At January 2014, Network18 acquired 50% stakes of ETV non-telugu GEC (including ETV Kannada)[2] and balance 50% stakes was continuely held by ETV Network (Prism TV). Then ETV kannada was rebranded under Colors franchise on April 26 2015..[3] At July 2015, Viacom network acquires balance 50% stakes held by Prism TV.[4] Thus Colors Kannada was completely comes under the ownership of Viacom18 (Viacom:Network18=50:50). Here I have provided reliable sources for these details. So I request administrators to reduce the protection of this page for editing. ETV is a network. It cannot be a redirect to Colors Kannada, which is a channel. For example, Udaya TV cannot be a redirect to Sun Network as they are different articles. Now Colors Kannada is the leading entertainment channel in Kannada language. So it should have seperate article.
