editSchmackiogram vandalized page saying the sentence about Crisp being half African American was false. I removed the vandalism but I could not find anything collaborating Crisp's ethnic makeup. If no one can verify I think that line should be deleted. hateless 06:38, 21 December 2005 (UTC)
infobox
editwhat's up with the revert war over the infobox?--Alhutch 19:54, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
Alhutch - You got me, but I reverted it because no ones leaving edit summaries. I added that infobox, and the guy just comes in and changes it without reason. So unless he gives a good reason for his behaviour, its staying the way it was. (Opes 19:58, 12 February 2006 (UTC))
i didn't start any "war" i just changed the box to something that i have seen more often and am trying to make it more consistant. if your box was better, then i would use it, but its not. so take it easy and dont cry just because your bos isnt as good.Zzz345zzz
Well I feel the the info box I used provides more info, therefore we have a POV problem. Unless Alhutch wants to throw in his two cents, I'm going to leave it as you have it. I would much rather avoid an edit war of such a trivial matter, but for future reference please provide edit summaries, ok ? What you were doing was considered rude. Please see Help:Edit summary and WP:CIV. (Opes 23:02, 12 February 2006 (UTC))
quality of article
editThis whole page is in need of a serious re-write, as it's nothing but a collection of random factoids. Please don't add random info anymore. Make sure it's relevant and put it in context. Tytrain 19:56, 22 May 2006 (UTC)
- I've sorted the article as Start, as it does give a decent amount of information about his position and such. I do agree that the factiods need to be taken down a notch. Burzmali 15:59, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
Picture
editAnyone got a better picture of Coco Crisp that would be appropriate to post to Wikipedia? This one is small, low resolution, and shows him from behind only. Midtempo-abg 04:26, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
It has been done. To whoever added a half-decent picture, I thank you! Midtempo-abg (talk) 07:55, 25 November 2007 (UTC)
OK, how about updating the photo AGAIN!? One that is current and one that shows him in a Kansas City Royals uniform since that is the team he's playing for now, not "boo hoo" Boston (or Cleveland)! 69.129.170.102 (talk) 00:17, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Name
editWith all of the silly name moves recently, I think we need to come to a consensus on the name. I for one believe it should be "Coco Crisp", as that is the most common name per wp standard naming conventions. Please discuss a move here before doing so again.--Thomas.macmillan (talk) 14:13, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- Coco - no question. JustSomeRandomGuy32 (talk) 14:28, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- definitely Coco--Yankees10 17:01, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
- No-one knows who Covelli Crisp is but everybody knows Coco!--Anonymous —Preceding unsigned comment added by Eithen (talk • contribs) 15:48, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- WP:NC-BASE says The title of an article for a baseball player should reflect the name they most commonly went by during their career. Nicknames should only be used when a player went by their nickname professionally instead of their given first name. Examples: Babe Ruth – Whitey Ford – Lefty Gomez. Coco definately falls into this category. The only time you see the name Covelli is when someone says "Did you know Coco's real name is Covelli."--Cube lurker (talk) 16:04, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- Agree, the name of the page should be Coco Crisp. Hardnfast (talk) 16:56, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- I have moved the article back to Coco Crisp. Both moves that shifted the page to Covelli Crisp were undiscussed. Consensus needs to be reached on controversial moves such as this before they are made. Parsecboy (talk) 18:20, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
- The move from Coco Crisp just had the summary real name. The person who moved it is a member of WikiProject Baseball, which links to the naming convention referred to above. So I think they just made a mistake. Agree the name should be Coco Crisp. Andrewa (talk) 18:36, 5 August 2008 (UTC)
