Clark vs. Livingston
editAccording to Landforms of British Columbia: A Physiographic Outline by Stuart S. Holland on page 85, the Clark Range is known as the Livingston Range in Montana. Obviously we don't need two articles covering the same range but I don't know which title should be used. Volcanoguy 17:19, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
- Is this the same range? Holland talks about the Clarke range, but this range is named after Lewis Clark (no e). Before any merging, it would be good to get further verification that what Holland refers to as "Clarke" is the topic of this article. — hike395 (talk) 04:05, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- @Hike395: The Clark Range was previously referred to as the Clarke Range according to its BC Geographical Names entry. The Canadian Geographical Names Database has outlines of the range here as the Clarke Range and here as the Clark Range. Volcanoguy 16:46, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
- By the way, the article claims the Clark Range is named after Captain William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, not Lewis Clark. In this case it seems the range was renamed to correct a misspelling. Volcanoguy 16:56, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
