The result of the move request was: moved. Per consensus, moving Chris Clark (musician) → Clark (musician) and Template:Chris Clark → Template:Clark (musician). Discography page not moved due to consensus. (closed by non-admin page mover) – robertsky (talk) 18:07, 26 December 2022 (UTC)
- Chris Clark (musician) → Clark (musician)
- Clark discography → Clark (musician) discography
- Template:Chris Clark → Template:Clark (musician)
– Per WP:NAMECHANGES, WP:COMMONNAME, and WP:BANDDAB. From 2001 to 2003, the subject released his music as Chris Clark. Since 2006, he has released his music as Clark. Many third-party reliable sources (AllMusic, Fact, Metacritic, and Pitchfork) call him Clark now. If other editors think "Clark (music producer)" is more appropriate than "Clark (musician)", I'm okay with that. 2400:4050:C222:B700:E4D6:5430:4D57:C598 (talk) 21:13, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose Chris Clark (music producer) per books. In ictu oculi (talk) 13:12, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, OP here. Could you explain how many and which books call him Chris Clark? I'll be very surprised if a music journalist still calls him Chris Clark. As for online reliable sources, I can add many more that call him Clark: Clash, DIY, Exclaim!, The Fader, MusicOMH, Paste, PopMatters, Spin, and Tiny Mix Tapes. Cheers. 2400:4050:C222:B700:EC86:C5D3:D322:C7F4 (talk) 16:50, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Support. From a spot check of sources, both those provided by the nominator and those linked in the article proper, my impression is that – while both Clark and Chris Clark have had clear usage among RS – sources in the past few years have largely preferred to just use "Clark". Thus, this move is preferable under WP:NAMECHANGES. Both "(musician)" and "(music producer)" would be acceptable disambiguators, but I slightly prefer "(musician)" due to its broader scope and WP:CONCISION. ModernDayTrilobite (talk • contribs) 19:38, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose the second move as excessive disambiguation. 162 etc. (talk) 19:40, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
- Comment. Whatever it's called, it shouldn't be Chris Clark (musician), as Chris Clark (singer) is also a musician. -- Necrothesp (talk) 14:43, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
- Support first per nom, strong oppose second as excessive disambiguation (and downright dumb – all musicians have discographies). Neutral on third, moving templates around is generally futile. No such user (talk) 15:14, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
