new higher phylogenetics

edit

According to Hibbett (see ref in article) Neocallimastigales and Monoblepharidales are now classes of their own within Chytridiomycota. I'm moving stuff around accordingly. Bendž|Ť 15:07, 30 June 2007 (UTC)Reply

Disease of Amphibians & Treatment for Frogs

edit

These two sections should be deleted, and merged with the chytridiomycosis article.

Too technical?

edit

This article seems much too technical for the average reader (I don't understand much of it myself). Can a subject expert review it and make it more accessible? Also, the bit about it being very interesting should be removed: it is not encyclopaedic.

I just removed this because part of it was a copyright violation of this. User:‎5e ext2013 has been asked multiple times to have their professor contact the education board for guidance on class projects. Blue Rasberry (talk) 20:37, 24 October 2013 (UTC)Reply

Revisions

edit

I plan on revising this wikipage if no one has any serious objections. I will be focusing on the "Habitat," "Reproduction," and "Parasite" sections. I might change "As a parasite" to "Ecological Roles" and talk about saprobic chytrids as well. I will also be updating some of the references. I think the "Spread of Chytrid Fungus" section should be re-located to the chytridiomycosis page. Chytrid Wm (talk) 00:42, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply

The taxonomy has been updated with the proper citation and spellings. Wordings have been changed and references added to the introductory paragraphs. The "Habitat" section has been moved to be after the "Reproduction" section and both have been expanded and updated with "new" references. I plan on getting rid of the "Spread of Chytrid Fungus" section as this page is concerned with the whole phylum and not just a particular species. The "Ecological Functions" will be expanded. Am I correct in thinking a review article counts as a secondary source? I will be using a few of those in this section. I also hope to re-add the blurb about the mention of Chytridiomycota in Tom Clancy's book. That was previously removed since it was considered "trivia," and that may be valid. I find it interesting and relevant, though. Chytrid Wm (talk) 17:58, 27 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
